museumtom Posted 8 March , 2010 Share Posted 8 March , 2010 This has me puzzled. Why did the buyer want these so much? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MESOX:IT Regards. Tom.
Moonraker Posted 8 March , 2010 Share Posted 8 March , 2010 And someone else wanted them nearly as badly, with his/her unsuccessful bid of 107 euros. Moonraker

stoj22 Posted 8 March , 2010 Share Posted 8 March , 2010 Out of curiosity, how much do they normally sell for? Steve.

wainfleet Posted 8 March , 2010 Share Posted 8 March , 2010 I tend to think that with run-of-the-mill items, two-thirds of whatever Regimentals is selling for is probably a realistic price. If this pouch has been emulsioned, it can probably be got off with paintstripper, in which case someone has got a single unblancoed pouch for around £100 and a little bit of work. That seems like quite a good deal to me.

dutchbarge Posted 16 March , 2010 Share Posted 16 March , 2010 Setting aside swap meets or finding one at a garage sale, this seems a very knock down price. Great War Militaria has good/vg singles (most missing snaps) for $385 a piece. Vg matched pairs can go for a grand or up. These prices may seem daft, but the market is created by what someone is willing to pay and evidently people are willing to pay higher prices all the time. I can remember about 15 years ago when a complete set of vg P08 gear went for $250-300 (cheaper than a repro set today). At the time I thought it was outrageous, but today wish I had picked up another set. Cheers, Bill
