I have discovered a relative served in the 2/4 battalion of the Y&LR His service no. was 2484. (William Jackson born 16 Aug 1889).

This battalion landed in Le Havre Jan 1917 ( as per Regimental web site).

Having searched Kew for any medal entitlement, my man is not listed..or I am being short sighted.

Are all entitlements for this regiment online at Kew?

Any help in gaining more info on William much appreciated.

I found a Card which shows a William Jackson 204284 4th York and Lancaster.

Enlisted 27.11.1915 and discharged to wounds on 26.3.1918 with Silver War Badge and two campaign medals.

PS This should be in Soldiers by the way !!

Sorry about forum, usually on Navies...never been on soldiers...just added a topic

How do I get it into the right section?

The number I had was on a death cert for him, so it is possible it was a registrars error...is the card on the Archives Online site?

Thanks

The card is on Ancestry UK and I guess you will get six cards for the similar name around your man's from the NA Docs Online site for ,I think,GBP2.00.

The topic might be moved by the Moderators, don't worry about it !
