I'm also interested in 33 battalion MGC - my uncle was a signaller with them and died of wounds on 6 Oct 1918. I'm going this weekend to see his grave at Mont Huon, Le Treport. Tyneside Chinaman Posted 26 February , 2010 Share Posted 26 February , 2010 You both need to read The History and Memoir of the 33rd Battalion Machine Gun Corps and of the 19th, 98th, 100th and 248th Machine Gun Companies, written and illustrated by members of the battalion. printed by Waterlow Brothers London 1919. Very scarce now only 1600 copies were printed. I paid 3 guineas £3-3 shillings for my copy in 1966. There has been at least one thread about the book, regards John

docchippy Posted 27 February , 2010 Share Posted 27 February , 2010 John Is there any mention of a Lt/Capt/Major Delbos in the book? Ended war in 12 Div MGC & HQ, but I believe may have spent early part in 19thMGC as he came out of the 20RF in the brigade of 33 div. Doc

Richard Fisher Posted 28 February , 2010 Share Posted 28 February , 2010 Morning all, I am not able to help directly at the moment but I thought you may be interested to know that I have partially completed transcribing the book into a Word document. This will enable it to be simply searched. When it is completed, as I believe there to be no copyright restrictions, I will upload the file to the Vickers MG website for all to share in its information. As there seems to be some demand, I will move it up the project list to complete. Regards Richard
