Guest Posted 24 February , 2010 Share Posted 24 February , 2010 With the assistance of members of the Great War Forum, this book details the boys' war and their involvement in the major battles on the Western Front, in Italy, Salonika, Macedonia, Gallipoli, Bulgaria and Russia. Like many young men of the time, the boys of King Edward VI School saw the outbreak of the First World War as an opportunity for bravery and excitement. For such a small grammar school the cost was significant, as too were the number of awards for gallantry, including a Victoria Cross. I am grateful to those members who kindly helped with the research. Richard Pearson, The Archive, King Edward VI SChool, Stratford-upon-Avon. alwoodford Posted 24 February , 2010 Share Posted 24 February , 2010 Sounds an interesting book, but not yet advertised on the publishers website? Might be an idea to repost when it is. Al
