Chutist33 Posted 23 February , 2010 Share Posted 23 February , 2010 Hi All. Can any pal give me the location of Dead Mans House in the Suvla sector please? It is mentioned as being the firing line on 13 August 1915 in the diary of 5th Dorsets and of 8th Northumberland Fusiliers. I am interested in the attack made by 8 NF on 19 August 1915 "about 700 yards in front of our line and 1000 yards south of W Hill". Does anyone know the site of one or either the above please? Best wishes, Jim K

corisande Posted 27 February , 2010 Share Posted 27 February , 2010 For what its worth I came across this snippet PEEL, Lieutenant Thomas Alfred Royal Army Medical Corps, attached 5th Bn. (Dorset Regt) Mortally wounded by a Turkish sniper on Aug. 19, 1915, while recovering wounded near Dead Man’s House, Suvla. He was evacuated to Mudros on the Greek island of Lemnos, where he died on Aug. 24, 1915, at Mudros, L.emnos, Greece. Buried East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos.
