wulsten Posted 23 February , 2010 Share Posted 23 February , 2010 Also researching a Walter Stanley Soanes served from 1914 and was on the Cornwallis when it sank, have found a BMD link to a Walter S Soanes who married a Minnie Rouse in 1917, would this be my man or would he have been married through the Navy and have a seperate naval marriage index, he was still serving until 1926 any help appreciated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

wulsten Posted 23 February , 2010 Author Share Posted 23 February , 2010 Tony, thanks again for the posts, i have his service records however trying to tie down his marriage, if its the same one as your post, there appears to be another listing of her death in Northampton 1924, however she is aged 50 some years older than Walter, he is also listed as died Northampton though aged 80 in 1973, so again was there a naval marriage entry or were they civil affairs, from his records he was serving at Pembroke II after being sank on Cornwallis jan 1917 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
