tonyforrest Posted 23 February , 2010 Share Posted 23 February , 2010 I'm struggling a little with this one as it is somewhat outside my comfort zone. I've been researching the history of the Hall in my village and this neatly combines Local History with the Military side. The owner of the Hall in the 30s was: Harold Watson Credland (1897 - 1941) whose Medal Card shows him at one point as ADC to GOC 16th Indian Division, North West Frontier Force (detached from 2/6th Royal Sussex who were 43rd Indian Brigade). Can anyone point me in the direction of a Divisional History or even suggest who had the Division 1916 - 1919? Credland retired on the grounds of ill health caused by overseas service in 1920. RHLV Posted 7 March , 2010 Share Posted 7 March , 2010 I presume from "who had" you mean who commanded 16 Indian Division: William C. Barratt December 1916-June 1918 William G.L. Beynon for the rest of the war Rich
tonyforrest Posted 8 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 8 March , 2010 Rich Thanks for that. I'd pretty well taken my eye off this one. Had a quick look this morning - and there you were! Now I have a starting point and can get some work done. Tony
