Hello,

On a death certificate for George Henry FURNEAUX, it has under his rank as, Corporal 1 A.D. Does it mean that he was at No.1 Air Depot at St. Omer, France.

Thank you,

Welcome to the forum Brian,

Yes it does.

If you have access to Ancestry you can view a copy of his Medal Index Card; here are the details from the UK Natioal Archives site:

He joined in 1915, probably went overseas in the same year, qualifying for a 1914-15 Star trio; and might have papers in the RAF service records AIR 79/106. There are original documents held at the UKNA at Kew, not online. If you post in the 'war in the air' sub forum you may get aditional responses.
