Remembered Today:

Times on Line access

I've not tried to access the Guardian Digital Archives through the county's Virtual Reference Library. I do it from home as a private (paying) individual. I was stuck at home with an electrician rewiring the house, and by the sixth week of his presence I was going nuts with boredom, so I treated myself to 24 hours and got over a thousand articles on drill halls. I realise this makes me seriously sad.

I've never tried looking for casualties, I'm afraid, except a couple of times on the microfioches at the library for someone else.

Those with no access via their own county libraries might want to look at adjacent (or further afield) counties as some counties offer "virtual membership" which allows access to on-line facilities but does not allow conventional book borrowing!
