This may be a simple one (only if you know the answer), but what does (TF) RGA 104B mean on the attached MIC. TF is guess is Territorial Force, RGA, no problem, but what is 104B?

is the "B" Brigade, Battalion or Battery?

Any guidance appreciated

thanks

Mike

Hi Mike.

This relates to the specific Medal Roll (on page 348) where his details can be found.

John.

If I can add a little to John's response, there is a book at the PRO which will give you the catalogue number for the medal roll (series WO329). You'll then find the entry on page 348.

His service number, 308809, indicates that he enlisted in either the 1st or 2nd Lancashire Heavy Battery, RGA. Regards. Dick Flory
