lindsayhyde Posted 7 July , 2010 Posted 7 July , 2010 http://www.bookshop.mlfhs.co.uk/index.php?...;products_id=31 Absent Voters List Hello there. I am sorry if this is not the right way of messaging you to sk if you got a copy of the ref mentioned above i stumbelled upon on this forum. I am researching (from Australia) my grand father Richard Hyde 28168 who served in the Man 24th (Oldham Pals) from Sep1915 to Oct 1916 discharged from wounds and was wondering if there was any mention of him in the ref you may have aquired above. I appreciate your time and sorry if this is the incorrect way of doing this Best Regards. Lindsay Hyde
johndavidswarbrick Posted 7 July , 2010 Posted 7 July , 2010 Dear Lindsay, Just had a quick look at both cds - no mention of Richard Hyde I'm afraid. However there were three entries in the Absent Voter List for men surnamed Hyde which may be relevant: Edward - 74 Henshaw Street Harry - 77 West End Street Harry - 137 Gainsborough Avenue In the WW1 index published by the paper there was only one Hyde listed: J Hyde [no number given] Private Manchester Regiment - Hesketh Avenue, Shaw Hope that helps some, Dave Swarbrick
themonsstar Posted 7 July , 2010 Posted 7 July , 2010 Here are his British War Medal page & the page from his SWB roll. You should also try the Manchester Regimental forum at; http://themanchesters.org/forum/index.php The second one is the SWB roll page it reads from LtoR; Number. Rank. Name. Unit. SWB Number. Enlistment date. Discharge date. Cause of discharge. Overseas. Age.

cypresslodge Posted 14 July , 2010 Posted 14 July , 2010 Hi Lindsay, Pretty sure the 27th Battalion was a reserve Battalion for training. My grandfather was in the 23rd Manchesters but he was with the 27th for the duration of his training All the best Sharon
