HERITAGE PLUS Posted 7 December , 2009 Share Posted 7 December , 2009 Duncan IDAHO was the name applied to the Auxiliary Patrol base at Milford Haven, Wales. It took its name from a requisitioned steam yacht - 43 tons (gross) built 1910. She was taken over by the Navy 12 April 1915 and fitted with a machine gun for use as a patrol vessel and based at Milford Haven, although apparently employed as a tug after March 1917. She was returned to her owners in February 1919 and the base closed down 1st October 1919. Dave
ARABIS Posted 7 December , 2009 Share Posted 7 December , 2009 SHIKARI was the Auxiliary Patrol Base at Swansea, commissioned 16/2/17 & renamed SHIKARI II 11/2/18. Paid off 1/2/19, personnel to IDAHO which was the A/P Depot at Milford Haven. Her character was VG for Very Good. The RN used five categories for Ability, Ex for Excellent, Supr for Superior, Sat for Satisfactory, Mod for Moderate, & Inf for Inferior. To me it looks like Ex. David.
