stiletto_33853 Posted 5 May , 2004 Share Posted 5 May , 2004 Hi, Could someone be kind enough to tell me the location of this unit in late April early May 1917, trying to tie up researching a local man who died on 4th May 1917 from Wounds in a hospital in that area. He is buried in La Chapelette Cemetery, Peronne. Many thanks Andy
John Milner Posted 6 May , 2004 Share Posted 6 May , 2004 Andy According to the "History of the 20th (Light) Division," the 60th Brigade attacked Bilhem at 2300, 24 April 1917, with three companies of 12th KRRC supported by 91st Field Artillery and 92nd Field Artillery. "A" Company formed up SE of Trescault in front of the road. "C" Company in support on the road behind. "B" Company was in reserve at Havrincourt Wood. "D" Company deployed south of the cemetery. The objective was taken, 14 prisoners captured for 9 men wounded. There no specific details in the book after the capture of Bilhem. Hope this is helpful.
