Rif., T.F., attd. 1/7th Bn. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an attack. As forward observation officer to his brigade he maintained his forward position for nine hours under very heavy shell fire and rendered valuable reports by pigeon to his brigade. Later, he carried out a dangerous reconnaissance under heavy fire and returned with most valuable information. Regards Steve
