KIRKY Posted 4 December , 2009 Posted 4 December , 2009 Hi looking for information on William Denny 1st Buffs, number 2812, was wounded in Ypres 26/61915 and again on Somme 15th or 16th Sept 1916. Anyone got diary entry for that period? tony

stevem Posted 4 December , 2009 Posted 4 December , 2009 Hi Tony In case you havnt seen it William Denny is mentioned in the Historical Records of The Buffs 1914 - 1919 by R.S.H. Moody on the following pages: 173 - 1 Bn., Sgt Denny awarded the MM (LG 27 October 1916, page 10478) 421 - a list of men who returned with 1st Battalion to Fermoy and who had left the same in 1914: Sgt W Denny, MM 515 - APPENDIX III - Rewards M.M. - Denny, W. Sgt 6812. William Denny was reported as wounded in the Kentish Express and Ashford News on 28 October 1916, Windsor was shown in brackets after his name. Regards Steve
