Soren Posted 1 December , 2009 Posted 1 December , 2009 Hi Speaking to some battlefield visitors earlier they were asking me about a ww1 dugout that was open to view, apparently there is a display board in the IFF museum that mentions it, does anyone know what they were referring to?
John S Posted 2 December , 2009 Posted 2 December , 2009 I suspect they mean Cryer Farm Bunker. Visits can be arranged via IFF Museum. Regards John
Mick D Posted 2 December , 2009 Posted 2 December , 2009 The one at Zandvoorde is quite a big bunker in very good condition, its just out of Zandvoorde opposite a timber yard. The access is unlimited but it was a bit muddy when I visited in October. The one John mentions is between Polygon Wood & Hooge crater cemetery near the Menin Road. This one is within some one's garden so access is limited to tours organised by the museum at Zonnebeke. Both well worth a visit, I have photographs of both if you want them. Mick

Are you going to post the photo you mention in the forum (needs to be less than 100 kB, I think) ? This link quick click looked good for Cryer Farm Ian
Mick D Posted 2 December , 2009 Posted 2 December , 2009 Ian, I'll try to reduce them enough but I'll loose a lot of detail. If you google the name, then images, there are a few to see. If this fails I'll post some when I'm back from work. Mick
Ian Riley Posted 2 December , 2009 Posted 2 December , 2009 Mick, Thanks. I'll Google further this evening. Ian
wulsten Posted 2 December , 2009 Posted 2 December , 2009 can cryer bunker be booked for tours or is visiting only on set occassions
John S Posted 2 December , 2009 Posted 2 December , 2009 can cryer bunker be booked for tours or is visiting only on set occassions I believe it can only be visited by prior arrangement with the Museum in Zonnebeke. Can't recall the cost but it isn't much and we got the services of a guide as well. Regards John
