chris basey Posted 29 November , 2009 Posted 29 November , 2009 Bought this one today. Do you think they are brothers? One was an artillery man, what about the other? Written on reverse: 'Bingham P3770'
stephen p nunn Posted 29 November , 2009 Posted 29 November , 2009 Bought this one today. Do you think they are brothers? One was an artillery man, what about the other? Written on reverse: 'Bingham P3770' Great find Chris. There's a load of Artillery Binghams in relation to medal cards. Number doesn't match at the moment. I wonder what that cap badge is with the other chap - can you enlarge it at all? Regards. SPN Maldon.
high wood Posted 29 November , 2009 Posted 29 November , 2009 There will not be a number match because he is an officer and because the number is probably the number of the negative. The second officer served in the Gloucestershire Regiment.

squirrel Posted 30 November , 2009 Posted 30 November , 2009 One hell of a knobkerrie the Glosters chap is holding.
Steven Broomfield Posted 30 November , 2009 Posted 30 November , 2009 I could be wrong, but the Glosters chap looks a little young to have made it to Sergeant Major rank in a cavalry regiment and then become a QM in an inantry unit. The QM post was normally (I think) a post for a fairly long-serving ranker. Additionally he's a 2nd Lt, not a Lieutenant, so my guess is he's not the 6th Dragoons bloke. Looking at the medal card, my thoughts are that the chap mentioned is an old-ish ranker, commissioned as QM into a Service Battalion. I think the photo is of a younger man. And is it an ashplant, rather than a knobkerrie?
