high wood Posted 29 November , 2009 Posted 29 November , 2009 I have obtained several postcards which I believe show Jack Terry of the Royal Naval Reserve. Jack was born in Newhaven, Sussex and seems to have served on the Newhaven Dieppe ferries before enlisting in the RNR. In one of the pictures he has a clearly visible RNR T badge visible on his left sleeve. I believe that this denotes service on trawlers. On the back of the photograph with the HM ML no332 cap tally, he has signed his name as Jack. I am aware that there was an Albert Edward Terry, 14301/DA who died of illness whilst serving on H.M. Trawler Miura as a deckhand on the 14th December 1918. He may have been a brother. If anyone can add any information it would be appreciated.

per ardua per mare per terram Posted 29 November , 2009 Posted 29 November , 2009 Service records for the RNR are offline either in BT377/7 at Kew or at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
ARABIS Posted 29 November , 2009 Posted 29 November , 2009 The R.N.R. with T below badge [without addition] was worn by deckhands & trimmers of the RNR Trawler Section.
