His MIC show's that he was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal. Upon death his next of kin would have received the Memorial Plaque and Memorial Scroll.

Some details from CWGC Debt of Honour,

Secondary Regiment: Rifle Brigade

Secondary Unit Text: posted to 2nd Bn.

Service No: 574689

Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead

Grave/Memorial Reference: XXXVIII. B. 1.

Cemetery: TYNE COT CEMETERY

This battalion was part of the 25th Brigade, 8th Division. This Regular Army Division was in the Ypres area and took part in the Third Battale of Ypres.

I'm sure the battalion war diary could be found at Kew to see exactly where the Battalion was situated at the time of his death.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Andy.

His WW1 Medal Index Card (MIC) doesn't add much other than confirming his qualifying for the British War Medal and Victory Medal.

A quick look on Ancestry revealed no surviving service record.

Jim,

As far as I'm aware you can find the reference number on the National Archives web site, however, you have to go to Kew to get a physical copy of the War Diary. Don't quote me on that though, as I haven't used their web site since I got access to Ancestry, even though they don't have the war diaries.

Cheers Andy.
