captain caveman Posted 28 November , 2009 Posted 28 November , 2009 I'm afraid there is not alot to go on, Private Frederick Dodge served with the Middlesex Regiment and was wounded in 1917 or 1918 in France. I am trying to get more detail but if anyone can help with anything I will be grateful. Thanks Captain Caveman
theloft Posted 28 November , 2009 Posted 28 November , 2009 Medal Card of Dodge, Frederick Corps Regiment No Rank Middlesex Regiment 293155 Private Army Service Corps M/381558 Private You can download the Medal Card for £2.00 or maybe someone could search Ancestry for you, if you don't have this already. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...resultcount=187 No Worries,
sotonmate Posted 28 November , 2009 Posted 28 November , 2009 CC You will need to find out which Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment before you can trace his service, even then you won't be sure when he joined them as there is no date into war theatre on Medal Cards for those who went after Dec 1915. I can say that the Medal Roll reference from the Medal Index Card is shown as RASC/101B268 page 27655 and this relates to the original Medal Roll ledger at Kew Archives in WO329/2053. Private Dodge's Battalion of the Middlesex will almost certainly be shown there, on page 27655. It is likely that he was wounded with the Middx and then returned, maybe not A1 fitness, for duty in the ASC,with whom he was serving when application was made for his campaign medals.
