mark f Posted 24 November , 2009 Posted 24 November , 2009 Hi, I am after a bit of help. I have just managed to get my Grandfathers (George William Spencer QVR's 393193) service record and with the help of the War diary and the book on the history of the QVR's I am trying to trace where my Grandfather would have served in WW1. I am on stuck on locations for the early part of his service. He joined 2/9th London in Oct 1916 and in Nov 1916 he went to the reserve battalion, I assume for training, where would that have been? He was posted to France in September 1917, his records states he went to the base depot (QVR's) again I assume to train in preperation for the front. Where would this depot have been? Amiens maybe? Any help would be most appreciated. Mark
