LloydUK Posted 22 November , 2009 Posted 22 November , 2009 Hi all, A relative has recently found some medals (I believe they are the Victory, British and 1915 Star) for a Private William McElroy, regimental number 20003. According to a letter I have he fought in Gallipoli with his nephew, and I know his nephew was in the 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers so I'm thinking they may have joined up together (though not sure). Unlike Private Robert James McElroy, his nephew, William survived the war. Any information on William would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Lloyd

LloydUK Posted 22 November , 2009 Author Posted 22 November , 2009 Hi, Thanks alot! So does that mean he was shipped directly to France in 1915? I'll get to the library tomorrow and see if I can find his Service Record on Ancestry.com, although I won't get my hopes up Thanks again, Lloyd
