To find a forgotten diary from either my Grandfather or his brother.

Alternatively can I ask for someone clearing out the basement of the National Archives to find that the other two thirds of the WW1 records weren't actually burnt at all, but have been laying in a long forgoitten corner for the last 60 odd years!

Cheers and Merry Xmas to all

Heretofore undiscovered stills and reels of film from the Somme, July 1, 1916. I would not keep them for myself but would donate them to the Imperial War Museum. i would just like to see them first.

I don't know about Christmas, but for Chanukah I'll take my great Uncle Julius Strauss' Militarpass and Soldbuch. That, and a time machine so I can go back to the Great War and punch out the S.O.B. who shot my grandfather. :)

To find a copy of the "History of the 7th(S) Battalion Pioneers, York and Lancaster Regiment", to help me understand where my granddad was from 1915-1918, as he died 18 months before I was born. My dad never talked about him and in my youth and innocence I never asked, mores the pity.

Cheers Roger.

To take my granddad in a retracing of his footsteps from Leeds to the Ieperlee Canal bank and back. I'd have a camera crew to capture it all.

1) To enter an alternate universe where WWI didn't happen and see how things would be different.

2) To be able to outbid Lord Ashcroft in a few VC sales.
