Dechipering military records

A few months ago I received military records for my great uncle, Thomas Dunne (served in the 24th Battalion of Canada, Quebec). I've attached a (unfortunately small due to limits) picture of one piece of information I can't make out. The date is March 13, 1916 and it says "??? to next of kin" and "?? from Can. Red." and underneath that is for May 4th and it looks like it says "DRRS" in all caps. The rest of the information just states he went missing, presumed dead. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Enquires to ..First line

Next of Kin (on March 13)... Second Line

extract from Canadian red cross ... third Line

Last line would be record to DRRS department (on May 4)

Not sure what department that is but obviously to do with records of the soldier

I reckon that's pretty close so reading a sentence.... Enquires to next of Kin from the Canadian Red Cross investigation on March 13th and then report of this forwarded to DRRS department for further follow up on May 4th ,last bit not 100% on DRRS what it is exactly

Might be DPRS - Director of Personnel Recovery Service.

Looks like" xtract(extract ) from"

MC has it correct. The only question is "DDRS" or "DPRS" or "DARS" or "DORS" and what it stands for. Antony

Have a look at the forming of the 2nd and 3rd letters of the last line - both different so I'd reckon 100 percent that it is DPRS.

I'm with you, David, and, as I've suggested, all I can think of, especially as the lad was "missing", is 'Director of Personnel Recovery Services'.
