Accident - near Marquise 23-10-18

Does anyone have any details of this event, aeoplane type, squadron, what have you? - the plane was written off, as it caught fire.

Lt L.T. Marks was a pilot on the strength of 1 ASD at Marquise. When I checked my RE8 log, I found the following which had escaped me as I entered details. Was it C2977 or C2979??

C2977 1ASD and crashed 24.10.18 - Lt LT Marks fatally injured (died 29.10.18).

C2978 3 Sqn AFC.

C2979 Presentation a/c Punjab No,21, Ferozepore. Lt L.T. Marks on Ferry Flight from 1ASD Repair Park and after take-off the centre section wires broke and the machine became uncontrollable; it crashed and was damaged by fire - to be deleted.
