Sir Arthur Currie Memorial Project

Hello again Forum Pals;

A couple of weeks ago, some of us Canadian members started a thread on the above topic to draw members' attention to efforts on this side of the pond to erect a memorial statue to General Sir Arthur Currie in his home town of Strathroy Ontario.

Some of you responded right away to add your vote to the Aviva Community Fund Project that this memorial is connected to.

Basically the project is that Aviva Insurance company will add this project to others that they sponsor. (Yes it does add to the company's corporate image) but the greater good is it gets a physical memorial to Sir Arthur Currie out in the community at large, instead of just naming libraries or Royal Canadian Legion branches for him.

The link to the web-site is below. Some have responded admirably to the effort. All you have to do is register an email address at that site and you can vote once a day with that email address. We are currently in the third round of the voting. (it seems complicated, but there is an elimination aspect associated to this project. if you don' have sufficient votes, the project does not continue.)

So I ask Forum Pals once again, to register at the above web site, leave a comment if you wish, but keep up the voting. This is a very worthwhile project. As stated in the previous thread, an INTERNATIONAL aspect to the voting can only enhance the profile of the project. Round three of the voting ends in 11 days, and there are only about 112 votes in this round. Only 500 votes were in round two. Please help us if you can.

Thanks,

George
