I tried to color this picture in Adobe ....

though I don't think I got the uniforms color right.

Nice attempt, and a bit of time

One way to use your brush, tool too better effect is to set it on Colour in the mode panel instead of normal, then you wont just be painting over the top, but just changing the tones of the image.

This was my attempt. I found it too time comsuming, and promptly gave up after 2 photos.

I googled 'how to colourise a black and white photo' to get some advice.
