New Museum

Just for information. It has been announced that work is to start at the beginning of 2010 on a new museum dedicated à 'La Grande Guerre 1914-1918' in Saint Lo , Normandy.

wondering why. It's a bit far from the battlefields.

There were Battalions raised in this area who fought on the WW1 Battlefields, as there were from all over France.

There is still a lot of local interest in these men , I imagine the new Museum is to Honour their memory and ensure future generations are aware of their sacrifice .

and perhaps attract a few tourists from Caen, Bayeux and the Normandy beaches.
