MarkCDodd Posted 12 November , 2009 Share Posted 12 November , 2009 Sorry, posted thisin the worng spot.... A few months ago we found an article in the Walsall Observer dated the 25/03/1916 in reference to my Grandad, Frederick Horace Dodd of Walsall, being injured. I am hoping there may be more within your collection. His war records did not survive so I am desperate to gather what I can. It appears he enlisted as Horace Frederick Dodd so article may be found under Horace F. Dodd as well as Frederick H Dodd.
sotonmate Posted 12 November , 2009 Share Posted 12 November , 2009 Mark Did the article say which Regiment/Battalion he served with,and/or a service number? It will help to find what can be found. There are quite a few named DODD,some with single name F some with H,one with FH, one with HF,and that's only a few pages, and there are quite a few more to see. So it is essential you post more info.for any progress to be made. Sotonmate
JimSmithson Posted 12 November , 2009 Share Posted 12 November , 2009 Mark There is a Horace F Dodd with the RFA number 94231, however, there are no other records other than medal cards for this man so, as Sotonmate says, confirmation that he was in that unit would help. If it is him then there may not be any more information for you. Jim
