Mark Finneran Posted 9 November , 2009 Share Posted 9 November , 2009 The largish water drum was eventually phased out in the Great War as we know to be replaced by the normal 'ammo box' sized pattern. The date is unknown of course but my 'spotter' question is does anyone have the German equivalent of lists of changes that may identify the 2 types of drum? The 'fittings' on one seems to be made of brass and the other steel, presumably the stell one being the latter version. VMT. Any images most welcome.
