Good Day All!

I just received a Victory Medal I purchased and would really appreciate help with identifying this person.

On the rim is the following "403741 1.A.M. F.G. Barlow. R.A.F."

I assumed when I acquired this medal that it would be a mere formality in identifying this airman, but was saddly mistaken. Because the R.A.F. was formed after April, 1918, this was possibly a late enlistee?

Is there any source of information I might possibly have access to to help identify this person and his unit? What does 1.A.M. mean? I am guessing Leading Aircraft Mechanic?

Thank-you very much.

Cheers

Bob
