Trying to ascertain whether this is my great grandfather who lived in Bebington, Wirral around this time.

Looks a good match because he worked with horses as a coachman.

There is a service record in Ancestry UK for 24167 Driver Joseph CONNOR. It shows he was from Hulme Manchester. He was posted to France on 2.2.1915 to Base Depot and appointed from there to 123 Battery of 28 Brigade RFA in 5 Division. He served there till Jan 1918 when he came home unitl Jun 1918,back to France with 251 Bde RFA until Jun 1919.Discharged unfit 8.9.1919. Awarded SWB (List RA/3908).
