andrew pugh Posted 1 November , 2009 Posted 1 November , 2009 Good Evening Again I hope this one is not a toughy! .Is there any way of finding out how many Corporals belonging to the 17th Bn Royal Fusiliers were killed from the 21st March 1918 up until the evening of the 24th.I seem to recall somebody saying that they didnt lose one until the 25th of the same month, according to S.D.G.W is this right? Also would a Lance Corp have had a second stripe or would he have just had the title?.All this info will help me no end. What were the proportion of troops captured by the Germans on these dates from this unit, are there any records kept. Once Again Best Regards Andy.
IPT Posted 1 November , 2009 Posted 1 November , 2009 Someone can feel free to tell me i've done this wrong but, using Geoff's famous search engine, I found the following; 21/03 - No casualties 22/03 - One casualty (shell?) 23/03 - No casualties 24/04 - Plenty of casualties including 4 lance corporals but no corporals http://www.hut-six.co.uk/cgi-bin/search14-21.php
