As part of the IFCP team, I found 30848 Private Arthur Hanbury 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters - killed 16 September 1916.

His name will be added to the Thiepval Memorial in due course but I would like an entry to be put into the visitors book and possible a cross with his name, placed at the Memorial.

I actually returned from Ypres and The Somme on Tuesday but did not find out until today that he had been accepted.

I realise this is a big ask but if anyone can help, I would be eternally grateful.

Hello John

I have had a PM with an offer from Old-Ted (John) but many thanks for your offer.

I never thought that I would find one of my men when I volunteered!

Many many thanks for doing that and posting the images.

I cannot thank you enough for going out of your way to make sure that Arthur is remembered. :poppy:

A lovely and useful explanation in the vistors book. Well done.

Certainly better than what I came up with and a fitting remembrance for Arthur.

It was no trouble at all and involved a lot less effort than Arthur made. Because of him and his comrades I am free to live in France. I'm happy to assist the IFTC project work in any way I can.

John
