Charles READE's case may already be in hand with the In From the Cold Project, as I found him in a batch of names a couple of months ago. I noted that although he is listed as Charles READE in GRO War Deaths and in SDGW (born & resident Wednesbury), the CWGC have a Pte Herbert JONES with the same number, the same DoD (4/3/17), and a NoK address also in Wednesbury. So it's either a case of mistaken identity or he may have used an alias.

There are SDGW entries and MIC's for both names with Notts & Derby number 11376, although READE's MIC merely notes his deletion from the 14-15 Star Roll as his name was submitted in error.

Terry Denham should be able to give you the current status of his submission, if any!

Name may be a typo on CWGC, as MIC & GRO War Deaths have SEATON.

It might be a good idea to crosscheck all your "killed in action" names with Terry Denham to see if they're already in the pipeline via the In From The Cold Project (we've reached the letter T) before you fork out for death certificates yourself!

No problems. There's a few of us on here who can probably narrow the list down for you. It would be useful if you could post an updated list soon so that we know which ones are still missing. Given the numbers who look likely from their Pension Papers to be eligible for commemoration it may be worth the while of IFTC to consider funding the purchase of DC's - have you been in touch with Terry Denham?

Arthur Reeves has papers on Ancestry and was discharged with chronic bronchitis casued by his service.

Best wishes.

Andy.

This one needs looking into a bit more - all sources I can find (other than CWGC) list him as George. Medal Index Card has him as 30850, Norfolk Regiment (then LC) so CWGC may have two men mixed together here, although there is some evidence that the service numbers are consistent with Norfolk to Lincs transfers (see MiC of Sidney G. Pippard) so it may just have been missed off Pullen's MIC.

It probably is - partial Pension papers are on Ancestry but the key sheet does not seem to have been uploaded (part of it is visible on the scan of the opposing page). He started off in the 27/RF and then got transferred to the RWK. He was discharged some time in 1918, having suffered from a gunshot wound to the finger and left leg. Whether this was ultimately responsible for his demise only his DC will reveal.

Bissell (or Bissill) looks good to me per the above evidence. Also the two Blakes, neither brother is entirely straightforward but they have piqued my interest so I may go back to them.

Blundell as noted above was discharged from the RFA for being underage then clearly re-enlisted at a later date as 37823 DCLI, unfortunately his service record does not cover the latter period. Pension ledger states that he died of wounds while in service on 2 March 1920, but the SWB roll says he was discharged with wounds on 6 June 1919.

Brownhill listed on CWGC as BROUNHILL, again noted above.

National Archives have an officer's record for Cadet Elijah Willfred THORNYCROFT-BUSBY Officer Cadet Battalion: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C1187457

Dawson's number was 128502 but I can't make a case for him.
