On the C.W.G.C website Corporal L. Carty 10811 1st Bn Cheshire Regt died 01/10/1915. However his M.I.C states Augustine L. Carty anyone know his full title and what the L stands for ?

The BMD Index states that Augustine Leo Carty's birth was registered at Toxteth Park, Lancashire, in the 3rd Quarter of 1897.

SDGW lists him as "Augustus Leo Carty" with the same death date as CWGC. Since CWGC gives his age as 18, this agrees

with the BMD listing. If his MIC and the BMD say "Augustine," I will accept this rather than SDGW's "Augustus." At least

everyone agreed that the L was for "Leo!"
