hillgorilla Posted 26 October , 2009 Posted 26 October , 2009 Hello, I am trying to find out some info for a friend. Her grandfather was in the 2/5th Lancashire Fusiliers (numbers 2455 and 200677). Have found his medal card, and have also looked in to the battalion. He was an amputee, and I was wondering if he would have a silver war badge. He used to attend Leeds with reference to his amputation, which I thnk must be the 2nd Northern General Hospital. Would there also be any admission or discharge records from any military hospitals / Ministry of Pension hospitals during the 1920s? Thanks for your help.
sotonmate Posted 26 October , 2009 Posted 26 October , 2009 hillgorilla Yes there is. List TH1002 has the details. It will be at Kew in the series WO329 and somewhere between the ledgers 3070 to 3086 (Preston). The card shoes that he enlisted on 15.9.1914 and was discharged on 31.8.1917 as a result of wounds and released under Para 392 (xvi) of the King's Regulations. You might find his papers in WO364 (Pension records)at Kew. The second number is shown as 200077 on the SWB card by the way. Sotonmate
