Pals,

A friend has says her grandfather's medal is engraved with his name etc but also what seems to be CONFJ1. Does anyone know what this might mean?

Ralph,

I don't know what medal it is. He was awarded the Victory and War medals and the Meritorious Service Medal. He was Company Quarter Master Serjeant in the 460th Field Company, Royal Engineers. 62th Division. That's as far as I've got with my research.
