Guest ytarg Posted 23 October , 2009 Posted 23 October , 2009 Hi all, I'm in Belgium and looking infos about WWI in the air in a little country 30 km southern Brussels. In this area, I found Lt pilot Ernst SCHWERDTFEGER KIA at SOIGNIES on the 7th november1918. I'm now looking for info by the archives of SOIGNIES. But at this time nothing. In the year 2006, SEANIO ( toofatfortakeoff ) posted yet a thread about him. I can't join SEANIO and searching more info and pic. Does anybody can help me ? Thanks all in advance.
Starlight Posted 24 October , 2009 Posted 24 October , 2009 Here's a little piece of information, taken from Norman Frank's "Casualties of the German Air Service 1914-1920": Ltn Ernst Schwerdtfeger was born in Myslowitz on 27th June 1895. He was in FA 252(A)w and is listed as being the observer in a two-seater aircraft when he was killed at Soignes on 7th November 1918. His pilot, Vfw Johannes Gunther, was wounded. Not much, but it's a start. Steve
