Machine Gun Corps service number

Hi all,

I've discovered that my gt-grandfather's brother joined the MGC late in the war. The MIC shows a service no. of 152511, Pte Thomas Christie. No joy on 'ancestry' with service records etc. Is there any way I can find what company he may have served with just from these details ? I'd love to pass a good bit of research onto his one and only grandson.
