River97 Posted 21 October , 2009 Share Posted 21 October , 2009 Evening all, I have been scrolling through the internet and have found photo's of the majority of the London Regiment's cap Badges. Is there anyone out there who would be able to post links so I could get photo's of the following: 1st Battalion 2nd Battalion 4th Battalion 6th Battalion 22nd Battalion 24th Battalion 33rd Battalion 34th Battalion The reason I ask is that I have quite a few medals to various Battalions of the London Regiment and would like to create a display in a cabinet with the medals and a cap badge, collar badges and a tunic button for each of the Battalions that deployed overseas. So, I would like a photo first as then I know what to look for before forking out the cash. Thanks Cheers Andy.

Max, The 33rd and 34th are listed on the Long Long Trail here and there is also a battalions worth of MIC's for each on Ancestry. Must be a rare unit as got to the continent late in the war. Cheers Andy.
Paul Reed Posted 21 October , 2009 Share Posted 21 October , 2009 There certainly was a 33rd and a 34th Battalion! The 34th wore the cap badge of the KRRC from what I can make out; I have several medal groups to this battalion, including one of their Coy Commanders who came from 7th KRRC which was disbanded to form the nucleus of the new unit. max7474 Posted 21 October , 2009 Share Posted 21 October , 2009 Interesting I was unaware of these war raised numbers. They do not feature on the 1908 Army lists when the Tf was formed. Perhaps I should qualify that there was no 32nd or 4th Bn badge unlike the other 20+ London regt bns and that would be correct. They did not have their own badge so the KRRC would be a possibility as they were a London raised bn even if they did not have any TF bns pre-war. max7474 Posted 22 October , 2009 Share Posted 22 October , 2009 So if the 33rd were RB and the 34th KRRC badged what were the 29-32 wearing? Fusiliers or GS?

max7474 Posted 27 October , 2009 Share Posted 27 October , 2009 For the sake of completeness you will need to add a RF cap badge for the 32nd Bn who went to France as well. The remaining 29-31st Bns were also RF.
