Educated Trinity College, North Carolina and Queen's University, Kingston, Canada. Mining engineer and member of the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Inventor of Nissen Hut and Nissen Steel Tent. Chairman, Nissen Ltd. Mentioned in Despatches18/5/18 and 7/7/19. Awarded Order of St Sava 3rd Class. Temporary Capt and Acting Major RE. His DSO was gazetted on 15/2/17 and was for `distinguished services in the field with effect from 1/1/17'. I suspect it could have been for the invention of the Nissen Hut.
