Walnut & Chestnut season along the Menin Gate

If visiting the ramparts /Menin Gate be sure to look out for the Chestnuts and Walnuts, it's quite windy here today and the harvest is rich as Mr Tibbs and I discovered during our morning walk, try to avoid the ones near the stump of the tree for obvious reasons !!

I've always found a walk along the Adjutant Masscheleinlaan to be very productive.

Polygon wood fer chestnuts. Ive managed to grow two sweet chestnut trees from nuts I have brought back from there, they are now in there 3rd year, they will be strong enough to transplant them some where next year! Now hows that for a collectable from the WW1 battlefields. :rolleyes:
