This is my fist post on 1914-1918, so forgive me if I ask any silly questions!

My ancestor (Harry George FOST 1415 L/Sgt) served in the 1/4th Devonshire Regiment and was killed in action on 3rd FEB 1917 in Mesopotamia - I've bought CT Atkinson's "The Devonshire Regiment 1914-1918" which provided an account of their attack on the Turkish lines. I am now interested to find out the following:

1) Which company was he in?

2) When did he join the TA and where was he posted before?

3) Any other information or accounts of the assault on 3rd FEB 1917?

4) Any useful links for research

Thank you!

Big Dee
