Remembered Today:

re John Crook 8th Bedfordshire Bn

Paul Crook

Recommended Posts

I have tried to find records of my great-unclue Sgt John Crook ( Service Number 20706) who served in the 8th Bedfordshire Bn. He died at Bethune on 17/4/1917 (presumably at the Field Hospital) and is buried at the Town Cemetry. Having tried and failed to find his service record at the National Archive I presume them to be in the burnt series of papers. Has anyone any more advice on how I can go any further.

Many thanks

Paul

Paul. The only thing that exists for him on Ancestry is his medal card. It would appear that his records were lost in the Blitz WW2, only about 30% survived. Ralph.
