Remembered Today:

French boat Lorraine III

Hi Guys, on behalf of a mate:

In Jan.1917, a Boulogne trawler was requisitioned by the Navy to become an auxilliary patrol-boat under the name of Lorraine III. She was lost 2 months later in a collision with SS Tyneford off Boulogne. I should be much interested in any details about shipyard and engine as the wreck has probably been discovered but needs to be confirmed.

I wonder if this trawler could have been previously under british register and built in Glasgow...

The name Tyneford may be incorrect, but is something like that??

Cheers Ron
