I have been in posession of a very large what I assume to be a disharge certificate for some 20 years or more, I came across it at a jumble sale propped up in a corner and covered with a sheet of newspaper. I took pity on it and bought it back to a loving home.

It is an engraved certificate surrounded by red, white and blue platted ribbons.

The wording is No13392 Sgt William Ellis D C M

Leicestershire Regiment

Disabled and honouably discharged September 1918 .

The signature at the bottom is in black ink and it is sighned

George R J

Sgt Ellis is of no relation to myself but his certificate has been hanging on my wall for the last 20 years.

Research so far has drawn a blank and I would welcome any help, sugestions, and information relating to Sgt Ellis or the certificate its self.

I hope to one day re unite it with it's rightfull owners, any surviving living relative.
