Jesse Posted 4 September , 2009 Share Posted 4 September , 2009 What corps/unit would have an officer wear the shield and crown, flanked by the lion and unicorn, and with Dieu Et Mondroit near the bottom. Date of January 1917.

Jesse Posted 5 September , 2009 Author Share Posted 5 September , 2009 Thanks, Jon. What would be the circumstances for a junior officer to wear that badge on cap and collars? Might be during Inns Of Court OTC? uote name='jay dubaya' date='Sep 4 2009, 11:25 PM' post='1258679'] Hi Jesse, it sounds like the General List cap badge cheers, Jon
Graham Stewart Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 Hi Jesse, it sounds like the General List cap badge cheers, Jon Royal Arms cap badge in bronze worn by officers of the General List is correct - not to be confused with the same badge in brass worn by both the Labour Corps, prior to the introduction of the more familiar badge and members of the Volunteer Force. Jesse Posted 5 September , 2009 Author Share Posted 5 September , 2009 Thank you all for your kind help. Had this large photo inscribed "Denis F. Lewis, 20/1 17", of an officer with Sam Browne and the General List badge you had mentioned on hat and collars. No rank insignia. Photo base has stamp of "Medringtons LTO, 23, Bold St, Liverpool." I did see a Denis F. Lewis in the Ancestry Service Records who went to Inns Of Court OTC in January 1916, and was made a Dental Surgeon in October 1916, so thought a possible match. This Ancestry Lewis was from Codsall, Wolverhampton. What corps/unit would have an officer wear the shield and crown, flanked by the lion and unicorn, and with Dieu Et Mondroit near the bottom.
