Hi,

I am researching my Grandfather's military service and I am in need of some help if possible.

My Grandfather, 27217 F W Newman enlisted on 5/10/1907 into The Argyle & Bute RGA. In 1909 he was serving in the 2nd Mountain Battery, in India. 1911 he took part in the Delhi Durbar. He served on the Western front From 14/12/1914 to early December 1915 and then was moved to Salonika. Then I have the 2nd Mtn Batt. joining the 3rd Mountain Brigade on 02/08/1916. After this date I can not find out any more about his Battery or where they served until he turns up again in Archangel 1919. then he was a gunnery instructor on the Isle of Bute until 1925.

If anyone can help me fill in the 1917/18 gap I would be most grateful.

Stewart
