Remembered Today:

Harrods Roll of Honour

CGM

Recommended Posts

Apparently the first floor half landing has/had Harrods War Memorial and Roll of Honour on wall-mounted tablets.

I wonder if anyone has the list of names? I am interested to know if Ernest R. Harman or Alfred Hanniball are on there.

Many thanks

  • 2 weeks later...

I contacted Harrods again today and gave them a mild rifting with regards to them not contacting me within 24 hrs on the 9th August. I was assured that they will contact me tomorrow. We will see?

Thank you. I do appreciate your help.

Strangely, there's a post of mine missing... I'm sure I saw it on here before. Wonder where it went?

Anyway,

Many thanks

Ha!

I did a search on Harrods and found it - I posted on a thread about Liberty's shop.

I've copied what I wrote:

Apparently Harrods Roll of Honour listed all their staff who served in the war, not just those who were killed. (This is just what I have been told. I can't confirm it.)

Yours embarrassedly,

Thank you , Matthew.

Do you happen to know if it included all those who served, and survived? Just wondered, having been told it does.

Thanks again,

It's only fatalities. "Harrodians who died for their Country".

Hope this helps,

Matthew
